an update corruption.. i click it+ limewire GONE!
 

helP!.

I recently opened limewire and as usually the update box popped up....this time i accidentally clicked it...limewire closed off.. then it said that the update was corrupted and now my limewire icons are gone from desktop..and start... but its still in program files.. but i dont know how to get to it :/

Re-download the program, but this time choose the "Offline" installer version, it's much much safer. Then res-install. Your shortcuts will be resurrected, etc.

but i dont want to have to pay for it again :/

OH you bought pro? How long ago? Just go to your personal pro download page & download & install it again.
BTW in settings you can stop warnings for updates.

But I don't quite understand how you could be installing an update whilst you have LW still open. I think that would stuff up most programs, unless they warned you must close off the program to finish installation. Pro does not install online, it is a offline installer that you install from your computer.

the link in the e-mail just took me to page where it kinda comparing both pro and basic...then i clicked download pro.. and it came up with the form i needed to fill out all over again *including billing options etc*

please help i really dont want to have to pay for it again, i did buy it forever so thats a bit unfair considering the problem why it removed itself was from limewire itself. the message update thing said there was a better version available or something and then it said that the update was corrupted.. thats hardly me fault :(

how long have you had LW pro if you haven't exceeded the 6 months then when you get to that form you need to fill out there on that page there's a part that says already payed for pro click that if you remember the email you gave unless your time is up but its worth a try.

This seems to be a problem that many users are having latley...
My suggestion would be to post this enquiry over at the limewire org forums as some of the developers frequent there...
If enough members complain about this, they will soon relise this is getting to be quiet a big problem...;)
