Limewire Freezes on start up
 

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I've used limewire for close to 3 years but recently got a new laptop. Once I try to start up limewire it stalls usually on the pop up adverrtising limewire pro or the tip of the day. The system completely stalls and will not move, I have to start task manager to kill the program. I would really appreciate any help I have tried many of the suggestions on this forum already including the three step changes including reinstalling java and limewire as well as altering the compatibability of limewire. My stats are;
Windows Vista Basic
2Gb of Ram
99 Gb of hard drive space
Java version 6.2
McAffee Protection

Try these fixes if above is no help.

Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...
