LW Shutdown Premature

Hello all, this is my first post, so please bear with me. I am using version LW 4.14.8, and Java 1.6.0_02 I have a 3.02 GHz G41 IBM Thinkpad running Win XP Pro, SP 2. For the last 24 hours, LW disconnects and shuts down after 2 hrs while I'm trying to download a very large file:1.7GBy for Frets on Fire. What's up ? I've been using LW for at least a year, and this is the first time it has shown this behavior. I'm on Road Runner for my Cable ISP, and they disavow all knowledge.

It sounds a bit suss for your ISP, it's like their shaping you after a certain download limit is reached...

But you could try these fixes and see if they help...;)
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...;)

Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Well, I deleted all of Java and LW. reinstalled both : new LW 4.14.10, and Java 5.11 Same result, I fired up LW, just let it sit on some 'Need more sources / awaiting sources' for some jazz songs, and it disconnects itself after 2 hours. I fired up my browser, let it sit on my home page, and went to bed. Still there in the morning, al least six hours later. Could my ISP be monitoring my activity, and restricting only certain sites, or is something going on at the LW servers?

Well, I found the problem. I had downloaded from a bit torrent site, via LW, some songs for Frets on Fire. I picked up a virus/malware called onoes.exe, and a hidden folder called c:\program files\outlook There was also an entry in c:\windows\system32\onoes*.* Delete them and the LW seems to be back to normal, but if you google onoes.exe, it seems to have cropped up in the last few days, tied to LW, winrar files, etc. BE AWARE.
