Limewire starts to open but doesn't PLEASE HELP!!! AT WITS END!!!
 

Ok i have looked all over for a solution to my problem for over a month now. I have been using it on my laptop for over a year without any problems I couldn't solve myslef then one day I was using Limewire everything was fine then all of a sudden it closed automatically and at the time I was using v4.12 while 4.14 was out I was to lazy to update. When that happened I tries double clicking on the shortcut then that little loading window poped up then it loaded to like 56% then dissappered and nothing happened after that then I restarted my comp same thing happened. so I uninstalled it and put in 4.14 same thing then i did system restore and still no change I reinstalled java I have tried everything I've read but still no change but I still can't figure out the cause of this. Somebody please help I'm at wits end and i've tried frostwire and same exact thing seriously if i could get it running again it would REALLY make my day so please anyone help!!!!!!!

ive got same problem, anyone know whats happening? i dont know if its a windows update problem or what, i can only get to my films file an extremely long way round and i have just purchased limewire pro and have still got the problem PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

What version of Java are you using? Try this version. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.

If that doesn't help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

If it's still stuck, reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (when you click to download LW & the dialog box pops up, cancel it & you'll see an option to download the offline installer).

If it's still not opening, try changing compatibility (point 5 in the 'fixes' thread).
