My first post so hello to all!! after downloading LW to a newly setup xp pro, I try to open it but get setup dialog box (language, welcome, save folder, connect speed etc.) after all selections LW will not open and each time I try I get this dialog box over and over. Any ideas? Thanks!

Delete LW's preference folder with LW completely shut down. Instructions in this thread points 2 & 3(check both locations): Fixes for Limewire. This will reset all your option settings, so make a note of them first(if you can).

If still no joy, try uninstalling and deleting all versions of java from your Add or Remove Programs Control Panel. Then d/load and install Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 12, use the offline installer.
