getting it onto dvd !

Hi - this is my second visit to this forum ! The last advice given was spot on, so thank you. Now that I can watch my downloaded video files on my PC, I want to know how to put them onto DVD so that I can watch them on a normal DVD player ! I,ve tried through a programme called Cyberlink power to go - this didn't work - disc is not recognised in dvd player ! I also have Roxio Media Creator 7 - this won't allow me to use any of the downloaded files - only home movies ! I am not aware that you can use Windows Media Player either - some help or suggestions please - I may have to leave this thread shortly but my email is *******
