Free version wont work
 

Hi Guys , New to forum & Hi to all
I have used Lime wire in the past & decided to try out the free version & the program shuts it's self down a few seconds after launching . I deleted it & downloaded from another site & the same thing happened . Any ideas on what is going on ? :bangh:

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall all Java versions. Then install latest version.
Check if some antivirus program or firewall is not blocking your LimeWire.
And, last from me, check this thread if previous is not working:

Sorry BaneSerbia , but I still cant get it to work . Message on the red bars say " you are curently conecting to the network " & "LW has detected a f/wall " I have had it conected for 30 mts & no green bars yet .. I had L/W about 18 mths ago & had no such problems.. There is no way I am going to pay to get pro if I cant get their trail version to work. I have AGV & Kerio installed & are both free versions..

Hmm, maybe some ports are mixed up in Firewall. What Operating System do you use? I guess everything is working normally over the net, except LW? Well, those are problem lot of ppl have and there is always solution for it. You are not the only one :)
You have same connection like I do so I don't see any reason why LW can't detect Internet connection... You have to make sure that those antivirus programs do not block LW. And Firewall also. There is offcourse exception option in every of this programs. They just don't let LW ports to go to internet. Try shutting them down (antivirus programs and firewall) and see if LW works.
