need help with limewire plyback speed

I just downloaded the newest version of limewire. I am operating on windows professional 2000. I have verizon dsl for internet connection. I have no trouble downloading music, when I try to play it back is sounds like it is on fast forward. It is playing back at a speed that is too fast. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

The player in Limewire is known to have problems. Have you tried using another player?
