AVI Files corrupt - why so many? Please help!

Hi I have downloaded 4 avi files with Limewire. 2 of these said they were complete but when I went to play them (WMP11, Nero Showtime, DIVX player), the players all refuse to play the files. The other two files played successfully with no problem. Is there something I need to know about using limewire? We have limited downloads each month and the two corrupt files were 1.4gig in total. I tried fixing them with various avi repair tools (divx repair, videofixer) but no joy. Anyone know of (a) a way to fix files like this, or, (b) any tricks for using limewire so I dont get so much corrupted data? Thanks for any help you are able to give.

right click on the search result and choose bitzi lookup....your problems might also be a codec issue...but I think not as a 1.4GB file is abnormal...scene release 'rules' are that files are a maximum of ~750MB per part...i.e. a 1.4GB file would really be 2 ~700MB parts...it is possible an individual joined these parts together, but that in of itself is strange..
