Limewire player lag/skipping

My system specs:
Pent III 800mhz
512mb
SB Live!
Win XP Pro


I close everything out Mozilla, ventrilo, aim EVERYTHING!

and my limewire still lags the songs even when i move the mouse. its eating up my cpu usage!

i dont want to disable using limewire player cuz then thats more apps open!
I've ran limewire b4 on a worse computer and it ran fine.

Any ideas?
all sound drivers and java and limwire are up to date!!!!

What's your Protection program? When I say protection, I mean, anti virus, firewall, etc..

i use mcafee it came with my comcast ISP
