Can't open Limewire

I was using an old version of Limewire Basic and was asked if i wanted to update to the new version. I clicked on ok and it removed my old version and installed the new version but now this new version won't open on my laptop. The programme has downloaded and I double click on the Limewire icon but the programme doesn't launch. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times but the same problem keeps happening. I am using Windows XP operating system. Can anyone help????

I recently had the same problem. I had multiple installations of Java, and have now installed version 1.6.0 (build 1.6.0_03-b05).
