virus all mp3 files changed to .exe...

ive been reading this happened to alot of people. u download an infected file on limewire and my whole music folder changed from mp3 to .exe files. i know its a virus. i downloaded that AVG thing and it did remove it but i need to know how to get my songs back! i lost over 4000 songs!!!!!! there not even really lost there still in the folder notthing is deleted they all just are 213 kb now! i renamed all the extensions back to mp3 but they still are the wrong size and wont play. i tried system restore that didnt work. theres gotta be a way to get these songs back!!!! i copied all my cds to my harddrive and got rid of them so most of these are "legal" songs! please help! ive seen people talking about this virus for over a year now and still no solution??


EDITED: THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED FOR THE MOST PART. I KNOW ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE GOT THIS VIRUS TOO. SO AFTER I SCANNED THE COMPUTER AND GOT RID OF IT. I DOWNLOADED A DELETED FILE RECOVERY WIZARD IT COST $40 BUT I GOT MOST OF THE MUSIC BACK. THANK GOD. SOME OF IT WAS WEIRD LIKE THE SONGS WERE MIXED UP WITH DIFFERNT TITLES BUT AT LEAST I DIDNT LOOSE EVERYTHING. IF THIS HAPPENS TO U THEY BEST WAY TO TRY AND RECOVER YOUR MUSIC IS WITH THIS PROGRAM AT WWW.LSOFT.NET ITS CALLED ACTIVE@UNDELETE 5.5 LIKE I SAID I DOWNLOADED THE FREE VERSION FIRST TO SCAN AND SEE IF IT FOUND ANYTHING...IT TOOK 2 1/2 HOURS BUT IT FOUND ALL THE FILES...THEN I WENT TO RECOVER THEM AND IT WONT LET U IN THE FREE DEMO VERSION SO I HAD TO PAY AND UPGRADE. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!
