Corrupted files?

I downloaded an mp3 audio file and when I tried to play it it gave me error message that there something wrong with it and it wouldn't play in any player. This happened several times.
What is going wrong and how do I fix it.

It's most likely a bad file.
Try a nother one.

There seem to be quite a few of them.
