Default Sharing?

Hey, well first of all, is limewire safe? I don't want to be downloading any viruses of course. And, how do I turn off all of my sharing -i don't want to share anything-? I went to "tools", "options" and then "+sharing" and unchecked everything, is that all i needed to do? Sorry for all the questions D:, any help will be greatly appreciated though .

There are heaps of infected files being shared on the network. So you need to make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you've downloaded, before you open them.

Watch file sizes...be wary of files less than 2000 KB in size.
WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

The decision to share is up to you, but remember that this is peer-to-peer...if everyone chose not to share then there'd be nothing worth downloading on the network.
And you wouldn't be able to download the files that you want

If you're wary of sharing straight away then that's fine...once you've been using LW for a while then you might decide to start sharing. I hope so

To disable sharing, go tools > options > sharing & untick the folders that are set for sharing > apply > ok.

Oops...forgot to tell you...also turn off partial sharing & automatic sharing of torrents.
Within LW (tools > options > sharing > advanced, untick 'Share .torrent files' & 'Allow Partial Sharing' > apply > ok).

Go to LW's library, click on Saved Files. Now highlight the file you want to delete & click Explore...your saved folder should open for you. Close LW & when it's properly closed, delete the file from your saved folder.

If you're still having trouble deleting it, there's more info & utilities to try here.

Right click on a file outside of LW (ie not in LW's library...find your saved folder instead)...there should be the option to scan the file with your AV program.
