Monitor Tab and Volume Slider Is playing Peek-A-Boo ! I recently installed LimeWire 4.16.6 and was quite happy with it. Glad to not be experiencing any of the problems some others have been having; However I just realized that my volume slider has been doing a "David Copperfield" now you see it and now you don't. Whats up with that ? Not a big deal, I have other volune controls. Today though; I wanted to check who and how many were uploading, and lo and behold... Where did my Monitor Tab go ? I pulled down the menu and tried to ensure that it was selected, It was Not, and it is now Unselectable ! Am I forgetting something here ? I use the monitor function a lot to see if I need to supply more of my Bandwidth for people uploading. Any thoughts on how to correct this ? :doctor: Or Am I just missing something here ? Win xp home and plenty of drive |
Reply to my own post ! I removed my LW program and reinstalled from my backup and my monitor tab is Now working fine. Sorry if I had anyone scratching their head on that one, However the volume slider still comes and goes. Keep on scratching ?:) |
Hi bobinoh, You could try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. This will change all of your settings within LW's tools > options, so if you're not sure of your settings - go thru tools > options & write things down first. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire If deleting the prefs folder doesn't help, it might be a bug. In that case, go to this other forum & post in the beta & bugs section...maybe a developer will see your post. Thanks birdy, I'll follow your advice(and the links you supplied) but ya know how it is when ya start doing house cleaning...... Never know what you'll find. |
Yep I know what you mean, all sorts of nasties show up once you start cleaning:p Seriously though...all that deleting the prefs folder will do is remove all of your options settings & if there's some kind of corruption in that folder, it could be what's sending your volume slider off into space sometimes. If that doesn't work, try posting at the other forum. The volume control's only new since 4.15, so there might be some probs with that (just guessing). |
Volume slider problem Thanks again to birdy and lord of the rings for the assist. Things are working alot better in other areas. The vol. slider is moving still. I think it is due to the "Get Pro" advertisment link requiring more space. short link= vol. control, long link= no vol. control. I've just got too many options activated at the bottom of page. |
