Default LimeWire 5 not honoring "My Documents" location

This happens with LimeWire 4 as well. My "My Documents" does not reside on my C: drive (it's sitting on E:\My Documents). However, LimeWire insists on creating it's folder in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\LimeWire

For some reason it's hardwired in LimeWire to use the physical path:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents

instead of
%UserProfile%\My Documents

This needs to be fixed.

Yeah I know. It's not the only program that does that.. I presume you are using LW 5. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post338387 where you need to change location for 'each' category. Unfortunately the actual Downloads location option does not work. I've already posted a bug report for this. O.o (category location works well however. )

LW 5 at the moment. However, this same issue also existed in LW 4. And while I can certainly use the Options ... to reconfigure where LW is saving it's files, by default it should honor %UserProfile%\My Documents instead of using the system drive's path.

And I've only found options for the 'Saved' and 'Store Purchased' folders. How do I tell LW where to keep the 'Incomplete' folder as well?

Incomplete folder will be placed in same parent directory folder as saved folder. For LW 5 it may be called something else such as shared.

Well, no matter what I did, LimeWire just will not save anywhere other than the hardwired path C:\Documents and Settings\[user profile]\My Documents\Limewire

When I go in Options and click on the Downloads tab, it specifically says a completely different path all together. Limewire has yet to use that for anything it downloads. I've restarted it numerous times now.

This is definitely a bug, definitely a problem.

Running 5.0.11 - waiting for the next update.

oops no .. yes that is a bug with LW 5 beta, you can only set location for download via Categories. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post338387 which will solve your problem. I reported that as a bug some weeks back. I had same problem. O.o
