getting songs to desktop/asked 4 help 3 weeks ago

I would like to have some help moving songs to my desktop. I used to be able to download a song in LIMEWIRE hit the enqueue button, save it in a folder and then save on to my desktop. Now I can't do that. My enqueue button isn't all colorful and I cant click on it also when I download a song It saves in my LIMEWIRE library, but it also saves in my WMP library and I dont know how to move the songs from WMP to my desktop.

Please help I posted a similar question 3 weeks ago and no one even answered...

-Thank you

If using XP, Go to Start, My computer. Now go to what ever drive you have your shared folder on i.e, C:\ drive. Find shared folder and right click the folder. Highlite Send To. Now go to Desktop (create shortcut) left click and you will now have a Shortcut to your Shared Folder on your Desktop. Hope this helps. :D

Thank you for the reply, but i cannot find the -shared- folder. Once I do this and I follow your instructions will I be able to enqueue?

Use windows search to find something you know you have. then follow Remoc's instructions

I found a limewire networkshared folder after going in through my computer. When I open it I see 4 limewire icons. Each one says LimeWireWin with a different number. The numbers are 4.9.33- 4.14.0 - 4.12.11- 4.16.6. Which one do I send to my desktop and what do those mean?

Thank you

Sleepless April 20th, 2008 03:12 PM

lol I meant search for a song you have downloaded, then open containing folder, then like Remoc says.

munki April 20th, 2008 03:16 PM

yea but that only works if i do one song at a time, right? I used to be able to make large good sized playlists at once.

Sleepless April 20th, 2008 03:19 PM

Well odds are that you have at least some of your music in the same place, so open containing folder would show many songs, not just one. Then press level up button and create a shortcut for the folder that has those songs.

Also use that location to add all the songs to your media player.

munki April 20th, 2008 03:38 PM

I dont really know how to do what your saying. I wont be able to use limewire like I used to? Being able to create playlists right there in limewire and being able to use the enqueue button?

-Thank you

Once you figure out where your music is, then just add that folder in limewire. So first find you music, then we can work from there.

BTW you have read this right?

My music is already in Limewire. I need to know why the enqueue button isnt working. I used to be able to enqueue a bunch of songs and create a playlist. Now I cant do that. For a quick minute they were saving in Limewire and in WMP (i dont know how) but now they are not doing that. I need to create playlists to put on my iPod.

thanks-

You create playlists for the iPod by dragging and dropping music files (mp3) into a playlist that you have created in iTunes. You cannot create playlists that will transfer straight into your iPod. You have to create an ITunes playlist first then when your iPod Synchronizes it will include those songs on a playlist that matches the one you have created in iTunes. You will have to find out where your music files are stored in order to do this. Follow the instructions given by Remoc and Sleepless.

What RobertR said + you can find your downloads by highlighting a song in Limewire Library and pressing explore. And also iTunes and iPod are a pair that are meant to work together so why on Earth would you want to use Limewire to do it?

Also I would have been nice if you had memtioned that iPod a few posts back, like maybe in the first one. I quote:

This is one of the cases where lack of info creates wrong answers.

I dont use itunes and that is not the only way to get music on your ipod. i know because i dont do it that way. all im asking is how to create a playlist and why isnt the enqueue button working????????

Sleepless April 22nd, 2008 08:20 PM

Your enqueue button isn't working because your limewire is corrupt and/or the devs did something wrong. Try deleting your preference folder or uninstalling and reinstalling Limewire.

Search the forum for preference folder and you will find instructions.

RobertR April 24th, 2008 03:29 AM

Are you using a genuine Apple iPod or some other generic mp3 player?

If I reinstall LW will all my music be erased?

Sleepless April 26th, 2008 10:10 PM

Not unless you saved it in either your Limewire program folder or Limewire application data folder. Something you would have to choose to do when setting up. Other then that there should be no way your music is erased from your computer just by uninstalling Limewire.

munki April 27th, 2008 05:44 PM

Ok I reinstalled LimeWire and the button still isnt working.

There are a million ways to get your music on your iPod apart from making playlists in Limewire. If that is the only thing wrong with it, then let it go and be happy it even works.

munki April 30th, 2008 02:03 PM

K i got it. All I had to do was go in through LW and change the player to LW and not WMP. Now the enqueue button works.
