The reason your system runs slow, is due to the fact that Limewire is free for a reason and is a torent program that allows remote users to view and upload or download files. Even if you set file sharing to no, it will set itself to yes based on terms & conditions of the program. I noticed that you said "EACH TIME" you install, meaning you uninstalled and re-installed. The problem is not the installs, but manipulation of your IE. Not even Norton has been able to solve this one. You will note that if you Google this subject, you will see forums with fixes, but you cannot reply or register. I wonder why? Go to My Computer/Program Files/ Internet Explorer and run the file that gets close to ie6setup.exe or whatever version you are using. This will re-install the Explorer and remove you hijack problem. Before you do this, go somewhere like Ebay and look at any item. If you see text link below the counter of how many times the item has been viewed, you have been hijacked. This hijack also shows on Ebay main page and looks real. It is not only Ebay, but many other sites that are highly visited. Ebay has nothing to do with this and will not be able to see your problem as it is on your browser only. This was caused by un-installing some type of torent program from your PC like Limewire, iTunes, Bearshare and so on. There is even a new one going around that changes your mp3 files to ZIP Virus files and are not detected by you Anti-Virus Program and are installed each time you try to listen to a song. This could have also been caused by being re-routed to portube.com. Do not go to that site. You will get false virus alerts and install malware each time you try to correct. My nephew had me fix his PC recently and each time I clicked the security program alert, I was taken to some security software site. When you have the UIpopupHIDDEN deal, you will not be able to upade IE. It will tell you that you are up to date and you will notice that lately you have not been getting many windows update available mesages. This pest tells your computer that it is updated. Anothe thing you may want to take a look at if you are familiar with editing you registry is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet/Control/Session Manager/AppCompatability folder. You may find many duplicated file names in Caps like explorer.exe as EXPLORER.EXE. You can also see this in your Task Manager runing like crazy. If you end explorer.exe, your desktop will go blank which is normal. If you end EXPLORER.EXE your PC looks like nothing happend, but you will notice you PC speed improve. I think this spyware and malware stuff is out of hand now a days. I spend more time fixing my PC than I do actually using it for what I need it. Another big contributor to this maham is myspace and netzero. These companies make money from there ads and you can see at your left bottom of your browser when the page is loading. Some of there advertisers pay big bugs to advertise as big businesses, and use scripts that grab your info and post comment or threads as you with ads to promote other sites. I am currently in a case against netzero. They have a home page that takes over your mouse or cursor within the first few seconds of page load and makes you click on ads that they get paid for click and also moves your cursor to the Yahoo sear box after you enter you user name. This posts your password in the search query adding it to there stats info where any employee can later look at the query as search keyword and have your password. All the time you hit enter to login and when you least expect, you just typed your password in the search box when you just had done it in the password box. This is new and being used by many free sites that have high traffic. To avoid this on any site, pay attention to the url you typed when the page is loading. If you see that it goes to a different site, do not enter your info. You can also hover over any link that you think is fake and see on your bottom left where the link will take you before you click. If you are running a firewall, you may want to block the mentioned torent programs from automatically connecting to the web or sending outgoing info. Bearshare is one of the most probable cuases along with Limewire. Even if you pay for a higher account with less ads. I do a lot of work for small sites on the side. Thes customers keep getting sucked in to security programs that keep infesting there PC and offer help at the same time. I had this problem with webroot which infested my PC as soon as I didi not renew my subscription with them. A hacker is a person that is haching it(making it on there own or self taught) that is what I did out of being scammed so many times. Some of us are on small budgets and are getting screwed by these security program sellers. Kind of like telling you to get an alarm system from them on your house and if you say no, you get a break-in at you house all of a sudden. A lot of sites offer help telling you to go to another site and it's fixed. This is most likely posted by the same people that got you where you are now. Like I mentioned above, I tried to reply to some site in regards to UIpopupHIDDEN, and noticed that all links only said LOGIN, but none said register. I am a pretty good programmer and PHP creator. I own monkeybidz and I am always looking for threats.
If you have more or new info on this topic, please let me know.

Good luck!
