configure / disappearing window !
 

well really a whole bunch of wacked of stuff is happening , il choose a skin , and it goes back to the default next time i boot LW

and also , i messed up during installation settings , letting limewire share 10k files of random zips and porn and whatnot

but the catch , is that when i click Tools>Options that window pops up for one second , THEN DISAPPEARS .... i really have no idea whats going on ..

i have Vista , first time user ... and yea i admit i tried downloading limewire pro from regular limewire , and im not sure if that screwed something up along the way

EDIT* i uninstalled limewire (regular), then reinstalled it (regular) , now i can access the options menu and go to configure my settings

BUT i havent tried yet , but it will probably just ignore what i applied , and then go back to doing what it was doing

Did you actually downlaod those zip and porn files?
and if you did - Why on earth did you do that!
If you didn't actually download the files them theres a chance that you may get some help.
Until you clarify whether you actually downloaded those files I don't think too many people will be able to help you.
If you didn't download those files I think you'd be better clarifying that and asking about skins in one of the other forums.
The LimeWire Tips & Tricks has a sub forum that is better suited and more set up to handle questions about skins.

no no no .... i dont do that

but it seems to be working again ..... im guessing i told limewire to share EVERYTHING , and it gave me random files to download ... in the lower left corner of LW it said something like

"click here to see the 10,800 files you are sharing , and its not MY STUFF because the computer is brand new and doesnt have anything on it , let alone all that stuff ..

after i think i fixed it , it said , click here to see the 27 files you are sharing which are actually mine ...

and now i reboot it , and all the settings are messed up again , and limewire pro is mysteriously showing up again ... please help me

EDIT* also , even though i am not trying to install Limewire again , a window pops up every 3-5 minutes saying 'one or more necessary files appear to be invalid' and it goes on forever telling me to report to limewire on this forum i think ..


the reason im in the windows general topic , is because LW has never done this to me before , and i just got a new computer with Vista and i assume theres some option i need to fix so that configure window doesnt disappear , and LW does not return to 'default' settings every time ... im contemplating just letting my computer upload those random zips to other people but i dont think thats safe in any way , especially because of the content ..

UPDATE

i think i fixed it .... i had downloaded 4 different versions of what i thought was limewire pro ... probably viruses or bugs .. everything seems in order after i found anything and everything on the computer that had 'limewire' on it and straight to the Bin with it

i hope its fixed
