MIDEP is flying high
Default Cpu Usage

Hi folks. New to this forum but hope someone can help. I am running LW Pro 4.14.8 and have found that LW takes up 97 - 99% CPU. I notice this more when LW has been running for a while as it slows my computer to a crawl. My computer is an AMD P4 running at 2.4 ghz with 2 gig ram. I've tried what I could but nothing works. I don't recall having had this problem with earlier version. Help would be appreciated. Thanx

I think this will always be an issue with LW, and the newer versions are even worse.
I would suggest trying Phex. It will take a little to get used to, but far better than Limewire IMO.
See Link in my Sig for Phex. It's still part of the Gnutella Networks.

if you were starting up LW for one of the first times and had just added in a LOT of files to share then it just might be that the cpu usage was because of the hashing of the new data...Stief noticed that the newest version is having a real tough time hashing the data....
