Is it possible to switch off LimeWire Pro upgrade start screen ?

Hello
I have one question: Is it possible to switch off LimeWire Pro upgrade start screen ?
Regards

I doubt it.
Your getting the basic application for free so them advertising the Pro version on a small pop-up is a very small price to pay for the privilege of having the use of their program.
Just dismiss it like you've always done and forget about it.

I will look other kind of program completely free and without not necessary windows, for example BitComet.

Advertising LimeWire 5.0

I paid for Limewire Pro 5.0, for a full year. I found it to be very substandard compared to version 4.7!!!!!!! I reverted to 4.7, which I had also paid for!!!!! I do not wish to see the upgrade screen window for 5.0 for the next eleven months. If it wasn't for 4.7, I would have asked for my money back.

Any Questions about my concern. I don't want to see, read, etc., a single comment about Sub-Standard 5.0/5.1!!!

How do I go about rectifying this problem??? I would appreciate any assistance.

The update option is built into LW. If it detects a newer version out, it will give that update now notice on the front window. But hey ... once you've done a search the notification goes away anyway. :) Likewise I'm using predominantly LW 4, I don't take much notice of the update notification.

LW 5.0 Advertising

For some reason, it never leaves my screen. I would hope those in the development department would have thought about this situation. Surely, they realize as people grow older, the more resistant they are to change.

Just as I am not interested in choosing a coffin at this time, just because I turned sixty last year.:laugh_2::)

I'm not sure about LW 4.7, I'm using LW 4.16 myself. The update on the search page does disappear after a search for me. Try going to Tools -> Options -> Updates & set it to only notify for Beta releases. Might make no difference, but might. :)

The update notification might be in a different location for LW 4.7. I cannot remember. For me it's in the middle of the search results window after opening LW.

Edit: Oh you mean the yellow strip at the very top of the search window. Unfortunately that's stuck there. That was introduced after 'fake' updates were showing up for LW.

The problem is still there. I have attempted to get ahold of a real human body, I guess they don't exist. What a sad way to ruin an excellent product. 5.0 is not an improvement. No one needs this (5.0) product.

I told them basically the same thing. LW 5 was released far too early when it should have remained in alpha stage for alpha testers ... not even beta stage for beta testers to test it out. There was certainly a range of arrogance by their release of LW 5 so early.

Thanks for your assistance. I finally got ahold of someone that admitted, they could not provide any assistance. Apparently, their staff and technicians are not up to developing a way of turning their commercial off. A substandard commercial for a substandard product.
