Limewire could not create a temporary preferencs dictionary - Help ?

Limewire could not create a temporary preferencs dictionary.

This is generally caused by lack of permissions. please make sure that you and limewire has permission to creat files/folders on this system.

How do I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Do you have Admin. rights to that system?? If not then nothing you can do. You have to be the Administrator of the System.

A bit more info would help - e.g. what operating system, is it your machine and are you familiar with the procedure for adding your self to the administrators group/changing file permissions.

If not your system, then the last reply would apply. Nothing you can do without administrator help.

I am using Windows Vista Home Edition. I am under the Owner admin group. I had Limewire on my computer before, but it it just stopped searching for songs. So I uninstalled it so that I could reinstall it. That was the error message that I got when I tried to reinstall it

Hm. I am not a Vista expert, but it does occur to me that your previous uninstall was not complete and you may have to manually clear some remaining bits. A mail to limewire support would probably advise.
Regarding the inabillity to connect, this is far more likely to be an issue with either a firewall block, or your ISP has started peer to peer blocking. There is an excellent thread concerning this elsewhere in the forum, with some possible workarounds.

Thank You...I was thinking that there was still some cleaning up to do but I couldn't find the files to be deleted...

Have a look in C\Program files\Limewire & delete all files plus the Limewire directory. You could also run a search for "Lime".

You may find this of help as well:

CCleaner - Download

I came across this in another thread - it is one of the most usefull bits of kit I have used.
