Media player problem

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/images/misc/progress.gifAlright...I have the newest version of Limewire, and I have been trying to play my music files, but everytime I double click them it just sends them down to the playlist. I have tried starting them from the playlist but that doesn't work either. The only time I can listen to a file on the limewire media player is if I preview something that is being downloaded. It's very frustrating. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing changed. My files work in windows media player so it isn't the files. Somebody please help! http://www.gnutellaforums.com/images/buttons/edit.gif

The Limewire Media Player is Horrible at Best. Why insist on using it. If WMP works then use it or even something Better. If you want to disable the LW Player and make another Player your Default, then Post Back. Its Really simple to do.:p

I just hate having to open a separate window to listen to music...just irritating that it doesn't work as it should mostly. I have it set that to use WMP now, it's just annoying that the program doesn't work.

I agree, but the LW Boys have put their Priorities in other areas.
I've never used the LW Player so I guess having a Great Player Pop Up and Play EVERY Time is worth it to me. :D

I also refuse to ever use WMP, cause it's also a pita. There are Better out there. :PEACE:

Many audio players in windows are greedy to become the default player to open your audio files. So at some point the real player has stolen this position. To change it to program of choice, right-click an mp3 & choose open with ... choose your program, then tick the box that says open all files with this program. You should repeat this process with all audio types of files including mp4 files, etc. More about this here: Setting default audio program. After changing the default audio program back to your choice, the icons of audio files will also change back.
