![]() Hi, I recently purchased Limewire and have downloaded about eight movies but done many more searches quite successfully, even last night. I did a search for a movie 'Closing the Ring', only received a few results so I went into Advanced and requested more results which I received but still not what I was looking for, so repeated the operation and received even more results. When I chose the one I wanted to download it was going to take 13 hours because there was only one copy available so I deleted with the idea of doing it earlier today. Now, I am not receiving ANY search results no matter what movie title I put in. Not a single result even if I go to advanced and choose more results. It was working perfectly last night but when I realised it was going to take too long I just deleted the search, 'cleaned up', disconnected and closed Limewire. When I connected today and did the same search there were no results, even after requesting more results four times. I then put in a couple of other titles which I know are popular and to which I had massive amounts of results and there is absolutely nothing coming up either in the original search or when requesting more results. Could someone please tell me what may have happened, please? I am connected and haven't done anything different to what I always do so I am quite confused. Any help would be really appreciated. Great to meet you all and look forward to a happy association in the future. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() 1. In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it does, untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference. 2. Problems with the search 3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them. Vista users: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista If LW's not connected, try the fixes here. If LW Will Not Connect If nothing there helps, post back with your system details |

![]() Hi, Thanks so much for your reply but I managed to fix it about five minutes after I had posted on the forum but couldn't find out how to delete the post. Anyway, what I had done was incorrectly updated to the new version from the flashing message on the bottom on the search screen. I thought I had bought the basic Limewire and tried to upgrade that. Yep, nuts I am. I did notice that the flashing message was still there and wondered why so I clicked on it, had a good look at everything and realised that I have bought Pro so upgraded to the new version and it started working straight away. A little knowledge is dangerous, isn't it? So, thank you so very much for your post and I hope I have the sense to do anything which needs doing properly next time. Being a new user, I am still finding my way around. Take care of each other... ![]() |
