is pirated music incompatible with iTunes USA or even Windows maybe?

I've downloaded many pirated tunes and they seem to play once or twice in iTunes, but then they disappear.

When I click on the pirated folder within my folder (using Windows Explore, not iTunes) where I dropped the album folders, they're just gone. I know they were there because I was in there modifying the properties. I don't know if it has anything to do with the characters - not all have an English match.

Has anyone else had this experience?
