limewire froze so i had to restart and all my music files were lost what happened and can i get them back

what do you lost ?
your shared files or just the incomplete files ?

My 'guess' is the files disappeared from the download window, possibly also changed download/shared location back to default or other location.

Go to Library window, select incomplete folder at bottom, select the files & press Resume button which will force them back into the Download window.

For shares, use your computer search function to find where your shared folder is. Then go to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Sharing & add that folder.
