This is a strange one...Try going into your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) select Processes and highlight limewire if it is there, then select End Process...Just make sure limewire is shut down at the time you try this...
It could be a simple bug within the limewire player, that has caused this to happen or it could be a virus, it's best not to rule anything out...Run a complete system scan with your Anti-Virus app just to be on the safe side...
Try using a third party player to play your downloads...
To disable LW player go to Tools > Options > Player and untick the box and select apply...
To make WMP or itunes your default player
Go to your shared folder (outside of Limewire) you will find this folder by clicking on one of your files in your LW library and clicking explore...
Right click on one of your MP3 files
Select open with
Select choose program
select WMP or itunes
and tick the box that says always use this program to open this file type
You should always scan your files before playing them as well....
Whilst in your shared folder right click on the file and select Scan With (your AV)....
