If you knew how to use Google, you would have found the answer to your question.
Don't know what your issue is with Java. If you have the adequate Protection, there is no issue.
Finally, these are the Gnutella Forums which deal with clients that use the Gnutella Network which IS Java based. Other P2P Programs outside of this Network is not discussed here.
