Bandwidth Limiting with T1 and higher

I am trying to find out how to limit the download bandwidth for T1 or higher lines. The SPEED option only provides, DIAL UP/BROADBAND, and the broadband limit goes from 43kb/s to infinity... how do I limit the speed to say, 200kb/s and not letting it hog the entire line? Using limewire 4.18.8 pro.

Good question. The T1/T3/DSL speed settings were available in the older LW versions. Not sure why they changed it. 43.31 KB/s seems to be the limit of Broadband curbing of speed. I'll ask around. ;)

IIRC, I think bandwidth detection and throttling is now automatic, though one can still adjust the sliders within the ranges provided. Since most ISP connections have lower upload bandwidth than downloads, actual upload speed needs to be detected.

Try adjusting the sliders *after* a few maxed out uploads occur, and see if that helps.

FWIW, my upload slider is set to the lowest, and shows 93.75. However, this was set back in the day when that was the lowest possible rate for a T3. The settings are stored in the limewire.props file, so maybe that can be edited (after a backup, of course).

Here are the settings in mine:
MAX_UPLOAD_BYTES_PER_SEC=151
UPLOAD_SPEED=25
