Default When I open it it goes 8 bit on me and zooms in??

Im on a slightly older Hp with 130.0Mbps internet needless to say high speed. I have windows XP.

Ive tried everything I can thing of. Ive redownloaded it 3 times every time I open the limewire program my screen goes all 8 bit on me and icons are so big that its not even an option to make themthat big through display.

I saved my display prefrences to were it goes back to my normal settings but it still flashes in 8 bit and stuff at first.

Which version of Java, which version of LW, etc. And which video card are all things we need to know.

If you are using the new LW 5 version, it might be related to you using Windows XP 32-bit.

In NVIDIA advanced settings, I think there are some options (sorry I do not have a windows machine), you may need to change settings. See first post here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...w-i-fixed.html Also the 2nd post has a suggestion to drop Java back to Java 1.5 after uninstalling Java 1.6, however that would prevent you using the new LW 5 beta if your machine supports 64-bit java 1.6

I was told by several people outside of the forums about the nvidia 8800 that the advanced options are reknown to cause problems. Disabling these options. I cannot remember which one it was. That was a year or longer ago I was told. Running in some kind of environment.

Default When I Turn On Lw & My Settings Switches To 8 Bit

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times and with a few different LW versions. I've updated Java and have had no problems what so ever with my NVIDIA GeForce 6800. I've been using LW for about three years with no problems. At some point I remember being prompted for some sort of 256 color scheme for LW I may have accidently hit yes but I have no idea where that would be. I see no such adjustments on the LW tool bar. Very strange and frustrating.
