![]() Hi, new to this this forum, so hopefully Im posting in the right place..?? Last week I must of done something to my computer to mess with my Limewire which Ive had for a couple of years trouble free. Anyway, I downloaded the latest version 5 and that where it all seemed to go wrong. I contacted Limewire explaining that Limewire is now using 100% CPU when ever I open it up, and they replied that I should uninstall it and all of its components and reinstall it, which I followed. As the problem still was there I done the uninstall/reinstall a few times, still with no joy. Now when I try to download Limewire I get the message; --------------------------------------------------------------- Your order has been used by too many IP addresses for downloading. If you feel you have reached this message in error, please visit our support pages. ----------------------------------------------------------- (I have informed Limewire, and they wont reply) I then tried the basic Limewire download to keep me going until I get this sorted...... Well, that downloaded ok and seemed to install ok, but when I click the icon to open the program nothing at all happens. If anyone can offer any advice I would be so so gratefull as this is driving me nuts ![]() Thanks in advance Rich (PS, sorry for the long winded post) |

![]() I cannot comment on the message you received. But as far as your account goes, discuss it with limenathan (click on link). As for LW not doing anything, what do you mean? It will not connect? If that's the case, delete the gnutella.net file out of the LW preferences folder whilst LW is CLOSED. |

![]() You do have Java 6 on your system? LW 5 requires Java 6 installed. ![]() I'd suggest uninstalling the version you have, then download & install this version http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe. Uninstall the other version via Start menu > All Programs > LW > Uninstall. Before you install it, delete your LW preferences folder, found here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) or for vista http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html |
