Hi,
I've just recently downloaded and installed Limewire 5 basic. I've recently been downloading a video and I am unable to preview the video. For example; when I try to preview the video through limewire (Ie right click video file "Preview File") nothing happens. Computer lags a bit and then nothing. Even after i've downloaded the entire file I cannot view it through Limewire, I physically have to open the containing folder and play it. With the pre Limewire 5 I was able to just double click on the video downloading, it would open the appropriate media player and I would be able to preview the video and discern quality, type and if it was worth it. If I could get this cleared it would be much appreciated. . I am currently running Windows XP |

That's odd. Which video player do you use?
I just checked playing files from both Library & p2p windows, shared & non-shared using VLC - (click on link) & all launched & played happily. We generally recommend VLC here as a great alternative player. Either as a backup player or setting as default video player. It has all its codecs built-in & plays all video types you will find on the network. Also plays a wide range of audio files too.

I just started downloading a video, about 5% downloaded, previewed fine with VLC.
![]() To Preview OR launch any file, you need to Right-click & choose Play or Preview depending whether it's an incomplete file in Download window or a file in Library/P2P windows. BTW you can also play files that are uploading from the Upload window. ![]() ![]() . Last edited by Lord of the Rings; March 9th, 2009 at 01:35 AM. |

Well depending on the type of video.
*.mpeg amoung others was WMP *.flv was FLV player I'm downloading VLC player right now and i'll see if that corrects the problem. This also seems to be occuring with my completed downloads. |

Okay,
Thanks LOTR. Downloaded the VLC player and now my previews and completed downloads. Thanks heaps man. If that didn't work, I think I might have reverted back to previous versions of Limewire. |

Great to hear.
Might be a difficult thought to change default program for videos (when you are accustom to using another), but VLC is very reliable in general.
