Limewire 5.1.2 Crashing
 

I was wondering is anyone can give me any advice. Everytime I try to launch a file from this new Limwire it shuts the program down completely. I updated my java so that can't be the problem. I'm just wondering if there is a solution or if I should go back to the old one that used to work perfectly? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Video file right? WMP is your default video player?
This appears to be a bug with LW 5 at moment. The developers have been made aware of it. Our advice is to change your default video player over to VLC. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...em-lw-5-a.html

Yes that certainly fixed the problem - thanks. Although VLC doesn't look as pretty as Media Player - ahh well beggers can't be choosers! *L* How will I know when the developers have fixed the bug? Thanks again LOTR once again you have gotten me out of strife :)

I read some hours ago their next release won't be for a couple of months. Unless of course they decide to release a maintenance version fixing up such bugs.

You can get more skins for VLC, check their site. ;) yes I know it's not always nice changing from a player you're used to using. Oh well. BTW you will find VLC safer to play than WMP because you will not be prompted to visit any dangerous web sites as some bad files may prompt you to do; VLC prevents that happening.

will check out the skins - thanks *L* I know it's silly to say but as a girl I need my media player to be pretty! ;) I never go to those sites if I download a file - I just sigh and download a different one! xx thanks again.
