are you upgrading from a previous version of LW?

its possible the freezing is caused by a lot of shared files being re-hashed...

upgraded a month ago. it was working ok. just tried again still no joy. it seems to freeze while still loading, after i get full connection. not sharing any files at the mo so i dont think its that. if i tried reinstalling limewire 5 would all my files still be there???

Same problem here. I did get it to work on two sessions by following these steps:
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...ng-should.html

I performed 5+6 and it worked. I also found WMP running at the same time meant Limewire would crash even if I had made the changes.
