![]() Thanks for the response, birdy! I just moved from 4 to 5.1.3 1. Yes, I mean number of search results. I'll check out the forum you recommended. I really liked that because I could easily decide to close searches based upon number of results listed in the tab without actually having to click and open that specific search window. 2. Searching within a view--in my previous version (maybe 4.1.18?) If I selected a view I could begin typing the name of a file. Each letter you entered would cause the focus to jump to a file (assuming one exists) that matches the characters you have entered. This worked in both the download and upload views and would allow you to easily find a specific file. This is important because you can perform functions on a file once you find it. It can be difficult, if not impossible, in a long list (if you're in a situation where you need to keep that long list). 3. Yes, that's it! Thanks. Now if only it also worked for the downloads page :-( I don't know why they would think of that for the search results windows and not include it on downloads. If I don't see it when I"m more awake I'll also add that when I look at the forum you recommended in your answer #1. Thanks again! |

Not sure what you mean by upload & download views however since they do not have search functions for such files already in the list. Remember the P2P Network window shows only the files that are being shared. At present the Library window shows shared, unshared & incomplete files (faded out & with 'Downloading' at end of name in brackets) for LW 5.2.2 at least. Perhaps you might wish to look at the LW 5.2.2 beta, seems quite stable & has some extras LW 5.1.3 does not have: LimeWire 5.2.2 (Beta) - Lime Wire Using the Library search will display incomplete files, & you can right-click the heading bar to show more options such as bitrate, uploads, upload attempts, hits, filename, size, etc. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; June 20th, 2009 at 04:28 AM. |

![]() In the pre-5.x client there were two "views." The top view was the search view and the bottom view was the list of files you were downloading. You could resize the views by moving the sizing bar between the views. If you had a long list of files in both views you could click on any file in the view you wanted to search and then start typing. Pressing "T" (for instance) would bring you to the first file in the list starting with "T". If you then pressed "e" you would be taken to the first file in the list starting with "Te" (e.g. Test.txt). You could keep pressing letters to jump to the file you were looking for. That was a very handy feature in the pre-5 Limewire client for searching long lists of files in either search windows or the download view. I hope that is enough explanation to clarify how the pre-5 client worked. I do not know if this was available in pre-4 clients but I used it regularly in a number of the 4.x clients. In the 5 client pressing alpha keys in any view doesn't appear to do anything and there's no way to search within a view (either search results or download) that I have found. You are forced to slowly scroll down the list of files. You can hit ctrl-F and a "Find" window pops up but it appears to be non-functioning. I tried using very obvious values and even values (portions of file names) displayed on the screen and it always fails saying value not found. |
