How do I add keywords to files for sharing?

I want to share some files on Limewire. I want to add some keywords (title, type, rating, comments, etc. to help people find them. I have been pouring through the forums and online help, but have not found any information about how to do that.

I thought perhaps that you could right-click on the file and add info in the properties summary screen, but I notice that the files I have downloaded are not modified that way.

This seems like a pretty basic question, but 99% of the messsages on this forums deal with downloading, not uploading.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It depends what type of file it is!!! You can go to the LW Library window, select your shared folder, select the file & press Describe button. There you can add details.

If you're refering to music such as mp3's, then you should use an mp3 id3 tag editor (though you can also use LW's describe function.)

LOTR: Thank you. However, I do not have a Library window. The only window tabs I have are Search and Monitor. The Navigation menu only has those two options also -- the Connections, Library, and Console options are greyed out (unavailable).

Do I need the Pro version to have access to the Library feature?

Go to LW's menu bar, View -> Show/Hide & you'll see options there to show the Library.

I hope you get on with LWs Describe function in the Library. I find it a little dubious, and lotrs suggestion to use a id3 tag editor better.

BTW WARNING Do not use the Delete function on files you wish to remove from the LW Library. You will loose them instantly from your computer
