Search Problems

I'm using Limewire Basic 3.0, and when I search for a file it'll show the tab up top displaying the search details. The bar that fills up the tab, which shows the progress of the search I would assume, will reach the end of the tab, with just a pixel left to fill the bar, then it stops. I get no search results. So in short:

I searched under Audio, Title, and Artist.

Clicked Search.

The progress bar begins to fill as usual, but then stops right at the end.

Help is much appreciated.

And I thought this may have something to do with it:
When I downloaded Limewire, I already had Kazaa on my computer. I figured it was the culprit, so I uninstalled it. And still nothing.

Well first of all I suggest that you update to LimeWire 4.10.9 so that it is current http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...oadfree2.shtml. You also may need to update to the newest version of Java which is 1.5.0 Update 7 http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp?cid=jdp81947

Okay I've updated to 4.10.9, and still same problem.

Perhaps it just doesn't like me?

Have you ever been able to search & bring up results?
Read these couple of threads about seeing no results & try the suggestions

My mistake; I have 4.12.1.

The bars at the bottom left of the window are red also.
Does it have anything to do with the fact I'm using a router?

Angry Pirate June 22nd, 2006 10:14 AM

I don't believe it is the router because I use a router and have no problems whatsoever connecting. My opinion is that the problem that has to do with your firewall. Here's a link to connection problems page http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml. This should help.
