It's some new kind of spam

Should be fixed in the new version 4.12.3

get it from official site:

www.limewire.com

Or if youre a Pro customer download it from your personal downloadlink

upgraded to 4.12 am running OSX. it has unexpected quit on me 3 times this afternoon. not managed to download anything :(

Sleepless June 25th, 2006 10:04 AM

I'm running Windows XP myself

But others that are running OSX have downloaded it and I haven't seen any post from them that are bad.

I really not the right person to give you any solution when running OSX. I only use PC's

I'm sure someone has an idea to what the problem might be. Just be patient or try to fix it yourself while waiting for a reply. You might get lucky.

Only possible solution I have is that you might be running low on space on harddisk or java is outdated. But really I have no idea.

Might be an idea to post all relevant info. Setup etc. so others get an idea of the problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

plenty of free hard disk, plenty of ram, it trundles away, but before it completes the download it quits and throws a message to say unexpectedly quit?!

Try deleting your LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed; found here /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

It will mean next time you start LW up, you will be asked to re-set your options such as as downld location, speed selection, etc.

You might also consider this Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! if you have many incompletes. It will be difficult to restart the older incompletes with the newer version. eg: delete those that are 0% & 0 - 50 KB

BTW which browser did it happen to you when it opened up the Napster site? Explorer right?

Actually I've found improvements in the VM use with the newer LW versions. LW 4.10 was a problem, but LW 4.11 & 4.12 have shown less VM issues. For OSX this can be reduced in any case by having less incompletes & shared files. I don't recommend sharing much over 2,000 files on OSX.

But then I'm using Tiger with Java 1.5

Have you tried the new 4.12.4 version. If you have and still no luck then try sending a PM to LOTR. Ask him if he has some older version of the program. Make sure that you give him the details of your OS.

Don't try to get it of the web. You never know what you get there
