No search results

Okay, I am brand new to Limewire and as far as I am aware have correctly downloaded the installation.
I feel really stupid for asking this but does anyone know why when I do a search, I am getting no results whatsoever??!!
I have looked in FAQ but I can't find anything to help me out.
Am I missing something painfully obvious?!

Could be a license problem:

Try to follow the instructions there on how to correct this.

Shello & Ed1978,
Are either of you fully connected (green bars in the bottom left corner)?
If you're not, LW won't be able to bring up search results properly. Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall)?

If you're not connected, read through this & make sure your firewall & router are configured. Do the port test & see if it works.
Connection problems? Check here first!

It could be an ISP issue, try the suggestions here

There are 2 green arrows in the bottom left corner, 1 pointing up the other pointing down. At the side of either arrow is 0 @ 0 KB/s.
There is also an icon with a picture of a brick wall. Does this mean that my firewall is preventing me from searching?

The green arrows show uploads & downloads. Look to the far left of them & you'll see the little connection bars. LW can't search if you're not connected to the network (being firewalled doesn't necessarily mean that you can't search):)

Yes, I do have those bars in the bottom far left hand corner but they are red not blue like the ones shown in your example (i'm assuming that the difference in colour must mean something). I also don't have that 'Turbo-Charged Connection' bit next to them.

This means that your LW isn't connected. Go back to post #4 of this thread & read through the connection problems link. Do the port test. Make sure you're only running 1 firewall & that it's configured properly. If your modem or router has it's own internal firewall, look at enabling UPnP or port forwarding (all the info's there). If you're still stuck, post back with your details

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW
