Can't install LimeWire- get printer utility

When I click the install Button it just brings up the printer utility instead of the installer. I am using Mac OS X, btw.

Did you download LW using Internet Explorer? If yes, that was your problem. Instead, download it again using Safari/Netscape/ etc.
Use Explorer for browsing but not for downloading dmg files. Explorer is not fully compatible with OSX!!! ;)

hmm I've never heard of that problem with firefox. Try downlding it again with Safari instead then. I guess the question is whether the issue is with the downlded file or the file-associations on your computer. You will need to be logged in with admin abilities in order to install programs on the computer. Which OSX version are you running?

Do you mean you double-click the installer program within the disk image & it brings up the print-utility? Select the install limewire program within the disk image, Command-i, change permissions to that of your user-account.

Ok, Safari did the same thing.

Here's the deal. What's supposed to happen is when you open the installer it opens, then closes and the installer program opens. Butinstead of theinstaller opening, the Printer utilikty opens. I am the admin, but only recently. I think I should try reseting permissions (How many times have you said that?!)

I am running 10.4 and quicktime 7.0.3

Try step 8 here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36374

BTW do you have OS 9 Classic installed on your computer? I recall there was a bug with the fax extension.
