Firewall Problem...but it's disabled

I installed 4.12.3. When I go to do the initial setup, I enter the language, the Save Folder destination, I Select Speed (cable/dsl), Start Automatically....then, I get the following message.....

"if firewall or security warnings appear, please unblock Limewire"

I use Norton Internet Security and Windows XP Home. I have tried turning off the Nortone Firewall and Security, as well as making sure the Windows Firewall is turned off. I try to repeat the setup but still get the same message.

Any ideas? I have also gone into the Norton Firewall config and made sure that Limewire was checked to Permit.

Thanks for any help you can give. :)

Z.

I do not quite understand where your problem is.
That this message appears is not something unusual.
Does your setup/ configuration or installation fail because of the message??
Or after LW has opened you see a brickwall in front of the small globe in the left bottom corner of the LW window??
The following thread includes information on how to configurate Norton properly to permit LW access:

I hope that will help you somehow........

I am also not able to do anything...search, ect. I only use the Windows XP firewall, and I have it disabled, yet I am still seeing a brick wall in front of the globe and when I try to search or click on "All Types", then the "What's New" button, the lime in the top right corner spins once, and nothing else happens. Can someone please help me???
Thank you

Nevermind, I found out the problem, I had the number of searches set at 0. As soon as I changed it, clicked search, and the results came pouring in, lol.:o

I am having the same exact issue as zroc, I also have XP and the firewall is disabled and I have norton, Lime wire is set in there to accept all, and I have even tried to do it with disabling Norton and it still won't go past the Firewall set up, I don't get a little globe or any options or anything.

Just sits there at that screen. I have tried all the reccomendations except the router one cause I cant get into Limewire to get the files I need cause it isn't totally installed or set up yet.

You shouldn't leave personal information (like e-mail addresses) in posts. It's against the forum rules, anyway.

You'll need to give us some more information before we can help. ;)
