***CAUTION*** DONT pay for the PRO version
 

Dont waste your money on the Limewire PRO version as it appears to be a scam. I paid for the pro version and when I went to upgrade as you are entitled to upgrades for a limited time, I upgraded and my upgrade time expired app. 2 weeks after I got my free upgrade. THEN the other day when I went to log on it asked me to upgrade to the "PRO" version again. This was AFTER I had already upgraded to the latest version. So naturally I went to the page to upgrade to PRO again and guess what.. luck would have it that my time had expired so now they are asking me to PAY for the pro version AGAIN!!! Just save your money and stick with the free version. Otherwise, you might end up being asked to pay for it all over again. I'm not happy Limewire!!! :mad:

It's not a scam. Everything is described on their website. You get Pro with 6 months of free updates. Around the end of 6 months you can repurchase at a discount. Now what is scamming about that? Didn't you read about what you were buying? Sounds like you're just cheesed off because you forgot your 6 months of free updates has finished. That doesn't give you the right to call it a scam when there's nothing on the LW site that is trying to trick anybody. It's all there described ... There's no lifetime of free updates for Pro. Where does it say that on their website? Besides you can keep using the version you have.

The scam is that it took away the version of Pro that I DID pay for and booted me back to the basic version.. if its not gonna let ya have anymore updates then thats fine but let me keep the version and build that I DID pay for instead of booting back to the free version. They never tell you that you will be bounced back if ya dont choose to keep paying for it.

It's up to the user to save their Pro installers. You paid for Pro so keep the installers for the versions you updated during the 6 months!

Wow, another smart one......and you're sure you didn't get a version coming with more than the real one (as it is the case in 99 out of 100 cases; i.e. trojans/viruses/maleware/worms just to name a few)?

I 've updated to the 4.12.4 LW pro version lately and I understand I'd better save it (than just execute) if I don't want to have the same problem as Chase41, that right?

Yep, save your installers. That way you'll always have access to all versions that have been released during your 6 months of Pro. You can't download those old instllers from LW later.

Hobo might as well let them download the bogus version so they can get viruses and hacked into their computer. why bother? They're going to use it no matter what then come here and brag about it like its a big deal. The admins should ban everyone who comes here saying to download the hacked version of Pro. If you want to screwup your computer then by all means use it I say.

The first thing they'll get is a virus. So let em use the hacked version of Pro lol. And then when they whine that they got a virus from their hacked version just ignore them. because eventually thats what will happen. :)

It's true that after updating to Lw 4.12.4 (which I didn't have to pay for,since it xas a free update) I first hit execute instead of save , and I realised after reading what happened to Chase I put a question about saving the installer of the updated version , for which I got a reply already.

Don't download the hacked version! And if you do don't come crying here there are viruses on my computer. If you want the PRO version buy it from limewire. And don't download from Limewire. If you download it from the basic and use it you are a nidwit. Or if it isn't filled with viruses it don't work!!! So if you download the hacked copy from limewire it's not our problem!

i paid for the pro version a while ago and never got it downloaded. I need to contact limewire on the phone but can not find the phone # anywhere. If anyone knows the 800 # for limewire please let me know. thanx

taureandago, Did you get it from www.limewire.com If so then just PM a mod or a Admin for help with that. Not sure if you can just call Limewire. and why didnt you download it after you paid for it? You would have gotten an email from Limewire with the link fordownloading after they received your payment of 18.88 (us dollars).

Send a personal message to this person: RSterne (click on link) & include all details possible such as purchase date, any receipt numbers, the email you registered under, etc.

As Sphinx says, are you sure you paid $18.88 US for it? If not, you didn't get it from LimeWire.org

I was happy with the free version of LW. After a couple weeks I had a long list of the songs that I enjoy. I purchased Pro just as a way to make a small donation for what I got free. Not only did I get music but reading the posts and the advice to fix problems gave me a lot more computer knowledge. Thanks people and at the end of my six months I will be happy to "BUY" it again.

Your attitude is what makes the developers of LW go on to enhance this nice tool.........glad to see that those "jerks" above are a small minority in the file-sharing community !! ;) :) ;)
