Trouble downloading Limewire

I've gotten the first part of limewire downloaded. Now I have an icon that says 4.12.4 on it. I click on that, and go through until I get to the page that has the option of start automatically. I click on that, then it gets to a page that has something about a firewall. It has no next button or finish button or anything. I don't have a firewall and don't have a modem that would have an automatic firewall. What do I do to get past this page?

maybe you accidentally uninstalled the program. and have you ever thought of starting your own thread? I'm working on a completely different issue here.

bleedinggreen,
Try uninstalling your current version of Java & reinstalling JRE using the offline installer
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Now reinstall LW using it's offline installer
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

See if that helps:)

And actually it sounds like alot of the same issues I am having. So sorry in my mega computer frustration to get in your thread. Not my intention. Thanks!!!!:)

It just gets confusing if there are 2 topics going in the thread;) Next time, just start a new thread in the appropriate section.

Have you just downloaded LW, or have you had it for a while but it's just stopped opening?

Try removing your version of Java & reinstall using the offline installer. Then try deleting the LW preferences folder. Instructions for both are in the thread below
Fixes for LimeWire
If that doesn't help, download LW again using it's offline installer... see the link in one of my other posts here. You could also try changing compatibility to Windows 2000 or NT (see Fixes for LimeWire).

If you're using any antispyware, make sure that LW's added to the list of exceptions/allowed apps. Some antispy will see LW as a threat & so stop it from opening/running. If in doubt, disable the antispyware & see if LW will open.
