LimeWire Media Player doesn't work for me ? When I press the play button nothing happens . Is there a direct link for it so I can download it? |
A file needs to be 100% downlded if you want to use the media player to Launch it. Or you can use the Preview function. The important buttons are Launch & Preview. BTW you can only preview as much as you have downlded; eg: so 5% of a 4 minute song = 12 seconds. 0% of any song = 0 seconds. No you can't preview what you havent downlded yet. As for the playlist player, see Playlists & how to create them (click on link) BTW some people have problems using the LW media player, so instead they disable it so their default computer audio player opens to play the songs instead. To disable the player, go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Player & uncheck the option box & press apply. |
Hi, Well the file size on the list is 113.9 MB and the file size that in on my PC is 116,674 KB so I'm assuming the file is 100% on my PC but on the download tray it reads at 38% and been at 38% for hours now. :( Also the preview etc buttons are grayed out. |
To preview you need to select the file from the downld window & press the preview button. If the file is still in the download window then it's not completed. Sizes can be a little confusing because not all parts of files are downlded sequentially. So you may have most of the 38% but also a part of the end of the file. So your system thinks the file size is larger than it is. That space is reserved until the downld completes. This often happens with video files. Particularly mpg files. |
Ok well this file is an avi and I started to download it about 7/8 hours ago, should it take that long? My broadband speed is 2.5 Mbit normally. |
For me it would take a lot longer. But it really depends upon how fast you're downlding (ie: how many hosts & what speed they have available for you to downld from.) If the download window says it's only 38% then you're only 1/3 way thru downlding the file. What speed are you downlding it at? It will show you. If it says zero KB/s then it may have stalled. In that case, cancel it & re-select from the search results. Or/& re-search the topic to see if you can find more hosts because hosts come & go offline all the time. Also here's some video file tips: Movie download issues |
Ok thank you for the help and the quick replies :) I done another search for the same Video (**********) and my other download has started to move again  :D ... It's now at 40% and I'm getting 9 KB/s. I'm a newbie to this stuff so I'll keep messing around with it. Thanks again... :) Edited to comply with the House Rules. Update ur Windows media player, or reinstall the current version. I think limewire media player uses the WMP engine, corrupt media player could screw up limewire player as well. And its not available for download separately. |
