should i see files i am sharing in searches?

I put some stuff up to share that I got from other places and limwire seems to recognize it, but when i do a search for it I dont see all of what im sharing with check marks next to it. Should I?

Also... Is there anyway to know how much I have uploaded.

Im mostly asking because I am using a firewall and want to be shure that other people can get thru, and to make shure Im not making any nooby mistakes.

Go to your LW library & look at the Uploads column. The first figure shows successful uploads & the second figure shows attempted uploads. So if you see 3/4, it means 3 uploads were successful out of 4 attempts.

Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe)? Within LW go tools > options > bug reports > view example. Scroll down to 'recieved incoming this session'... is it true or false? If it's false then there's a firewall preventing people from downloading your files.

In this case, check that you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured properly. There's a lot of info about firewall problems within the thread below:)
Connection problems? Check here first!

Your own files will not show up in your own searches

To see what you upload use the monitor tab (next to search tab). If it is not there then press View>Show/Hide>Monitor

Also got to Tools>Options>Uploads and uncheck the box that says automatically clear completed uploads. Then press Apply and OK

When you close Limewire you lose records of uploads (for security reasons I think)

Also make sure that you haven't got uploadslots at zero

Tools>Options>Uploads>Slots How many depends on your Up speed (at least 5 KB per slot. Preferably more)

Do you have a brick wall in front of the globe in Limewire ?
