im havin trouble installin the new version of limewire
 

somebody help me i try to download it but it says an older version of limewire is runnin tell me to check system tray its not down there and never was and i cant open the old one cause this pops up

Control-alt-del & bring up the manager & make sure Limewire is not listed. If it is, force it to quit.

Now, delete your LW preferences folder; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Try installing again. If still problems, download the "Offline" installer (not the recommended one) from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

it wont let me send the file .limewire to the recycle bin
it said it is beiing used by another person or program any programs that might be using the file and try again
i check system tray and ctrl-alt-delete

Is it the one from your account? Make sure you have admin permissions. And make sure LW is closed. Reboot if necessary.

Yes! Did you look at the 1st link I gave (point 1)? lol :D
BTW did you delete your LW prefs folder? I believe that is a part of your problem. LW will download partials of updates into the LW prefs folder. So it speeds up updating. But with the older ones still there if you didn't utilise them, then that may be causing your problems.

Did you delete the LimeWire preferences folder? That was the 1st thing I suggested you try.

Good. Control-Alt-Del & open the Process Manager & make sure there is no LimeWire running. Then install the Offline LW version.

BTW what was your previous version of LW?

i cant watch videos
 

um i tried to watch a video and it wont let me my windows media wont pop up when i push play to watch the video

What doesn't show up in the systen tray?? The LW icon??
Go LW>Tools>Options>System Tray and there make sure that "Show System Tray Icon" is marked as well as "Minimize to System Tray".

As for the media player, I suggested you already something on this. Of course you also have to choice to download the proper codecs for the WMP. Use the forum search here with "Windows Media Player Codecs". There should be a post of "ukbobboy01" with some download links for WMP codecs....
