firewall issue
 

hi i can not finsih installing limewire due to a firewall. i have window xp but with sp1. i use to have aol and its security system activated but i removed in an attempt to activate limewire. i have checked the firewall settings in the internet section but its still says there is a firewall.
so can someone help me
i have also tried installing both version of limewire several times. removing it and uninstalling it

If the LW installation already fails in the beginning of the LW installation process, I would guess that there might be a faulty Java installation.
Uninstall LW and all Java versions on your system. Reboot and then download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Install it and reboot again, then reinstall LW.

If that doesn't do the trick, try to install LW in save mode disabling all security programs on your system. And as a last resort, try to use the LW offline installer offered at the official site under OS "Others":
