Being careful about limewire ok i have had limewire for almost a month now and i am impressed that it is good and dosen't give me viruses???? i check it with my antivirus a lot... Is kazaA beteter and safer than limewire what do you think anyone?? I got a question what website does anyone recommend that detects and deletes viruses online for free of charge:rolleyes_2: And my last question is which free antivrus is better, avg free, active virus shield form aol free, and last avast free, are these antivirus programs good???? i have avg free so i am asking because i a not sure .. if there are any better ones please tell me because i am confused:confused: rite now adn what good free firewalls are there i have zonealarm. Before these progrmas i had etrust and it got me mad becuase it never said i had a virus when i did because my computer was going slow when i did not have limewire or any other program and when i scanned it online i did have a virus so that is why i deleted it and got free anti virus programs that are better. |
This thread may be helpful to you: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on link) I also use avg free. But I'll leave the other questions up to those who normally use windows. |
I use the Sygate personal firewall. I really don't know if it's better than ZoneAlarm, but it is very easy to configure for use with Limewire and other P2P software. I use AVG free as well, and Ewido to scan for spyware. There are links to all these in the Sticky at the top of this forum. |
Over Protection, no such thing. Limewire12 If you are serious about protecting your computer, and in my case, protecting my family's finances as well then there can be no such thing as over protection. I have an army of both paid for and free protection software on my PC and that is to protect my computer from any and all malware that a miscreant (or a whole host of miscreants) can place on my machine. I have been infected with spyware, adware, keylogger, viruses, java viruses, spyware with virus like names, unwanted cookies and other assorted small applications (planted by the PC manufacturer), etc. But in every case I have had the protective application to find and get rid of these pieces of junk and if they fail I have my eyes and a reasonable amount of common sense to keep my machine clean. I just want to point out that when you say: Quote:
I have the following running on my PC: Norton Anti-Virus 2005 Norton Personal Firewall 2005 Ewido Ad-Aware SE SpyBot Spyware Blaster Prevx1 BHODemon Plus several others that I cannot remember at the moment as well as several maintenance utilities. So you see, I am protected to the hilt and I am still on the look out for more. UK Bob |
