Results don't match name in search

I enter one or two words in the search and get a LOT of hits in the search window - most of which do NOT match my search name.

Am I doing something wrong?

I've used LimeWire before a few years back and got usually good results. This seems strange.

Thanks.

This often happens because, for one thing spammers manage to put up fake files as results for any search you care to make. Also you need to play around with the search feature to find what gives you the best result. If you enter an artist and an album, I find you will get hundreds of totally irellevent results. Some have greater success using "all files" some The audio or video searches.

Also you may enter an artsts name say "Bill Smith" and you will get results for Buffalo Bill, Heating Bill, Bessie Smith, and so on. It might be a good idea to put the words Heating, Bessie etc into your word filter in options, you can always remove them at any time.

I hope this helps a bit:)

Thanks, hobo.

I also realized that selecting a "platform" adds that to the search criteria.

I left that off and just used the name field...problem solved. I've never seen that before. Can't imagine why programmers would set it up like that.

Thanks again for the response
