Sorry if I've misread your problem...it's a bit hard to tell.

When you add to your mp3 player, you'll need to add the original music files & not just playlist files. A playlist will just contain m3u files that refer to the original files. So, try adding to your player from your LW saved folder. In LW tools > options > saving will show you the path.

If you go to your LW library & click on Saved Files then click Explore, your saved folder will open for you. Chances are, you can drag & drop from this folder into your player. If dragging & dropping doesn't work, check the player's manual for instructions about how to add files to the player. Just make sure that you add them from LW's saved folder.

What mp3? Are you talking about a portable mp3 player or a software program on your computer that players mp3's? If it's a portable device then tell us the brand & model name & numbers. If it's a software program then tell us the name of the program. It's difficult to help without this information. ;) :)

The helpers are missing the point

I've put in a search for m3u files. I can't believe how many other people are having the same problem. I have also done all of the answers from the helpers, but the helpers are missing the point. I checked my saved folder, the one the program defaults to and even changed the destination to my own folder, and they are m3u files. If you click on saved files in the library, they are m3u files. No where do they show on my hard drive as mp3 files. When you click on them they do start to play in windows media. But other programs or devices don't recognize them. The helpers keep saying that when you down load it to your saved folder they are mp3. Not on my computer and from what I can see from several others, not thiers either. It appears this problem is effecting so many people, the company running this site needs to address it in their directions or post a note.

I figured out the problem.

I finally figured out the problem. Follow these directions.

After downloading the song, click on it and then click the "Enqueue" icon. That will place it below in the mp3 Playlist. Then click on it once and then click on the "save as" icon. This will take you to what ever folder you have designated as your save folder. Then at the bottom, click on the down arrow on the "Files of Type" line and change it to or click on all files. Then above you will see the song you down loaded and it is still in mp3. Click on that, which will put it in the "File Name" line below. Click Save and it will be your saved folder as an mp3 file. Unbelievable those instructions aren't in the help files.

I'm sorry...I just don't know what's going on with your files. My files show with their extension (mp3 or m4a for example) in the library and also in my saved folder. I've never had to go through any of that rigmarole of adding to a playlist, save as etc. People do have problems with m3u files but it's usually when they're trying to add files to burn, or add to an mp3 player. In those cases, people are usually trying to add from a playlist, rather than adding from their saved folder. The only time I see an m3u file is within a playlist. Have you tried using your computer's search to look for mp3 files?
Other people don't seem to be having quite the same problem as you, which is possibly why your instructions aren't included in any help files.

But your post might help anyone else who's having the same problem that you were.

Friggin arrogance! What people download & save as m3u files. Ignorant ones I suspect. Actually my suspicion is that your default is wmp & m3u so LW thinks your files are m3u files. WMP is a playlist player & m3u are playlist files. Get your computer system in order & stop blaming us for your own lack of ability to set your media player up properly. For a start, anybody who uses the default wmp as their main player is someone who doesn't know ilch about anything but how to turn a computer on or off. Did you consider taking computer lessons before you jumped in & bought a computer. Like buying a car before you can drive it. lol :D
